PERMANENT PART-TIME – The Gogebic Range Solid Waste Management Authority is accepting applications for a highly energetic part-time driver and garbage collection laborer at its Transfer Station facility. This position has a high probability of becoming full-time in the near future.

Education: High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years heavy equipment truck driving experience and a clean safety and driving record.

Minimum Requirement: Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement.

General Requirements: Route driving and collection of residential and commercial garbage. May require some office work and some Saturday work, also.
Person must be physically fit, able to lift at least 50 pounds, and capable of pulling and managing heavy weight for long periods of time.
Highly energetic, motivated, dependable, friendly, and cooperative individual.

*Basic computer skills, hydraulic and equipment maintenance skills a plus.
Wages & Benefits In exchange for your hard work, we offer a starting wage of $15.65 per hour for a minimum of 20 hours a week, with a 50-cent increases after 90 days and increments in pay up to the rate of $18.36 per hour by October 1, 2023. Paid vacation, personal leave, sick leave, after one year and longevity pay. There is the potential for additional hours during the summer and, also, to cover other employees’ vacations.
