June 12, 2026. The Gogebic Range Solid Waste Transfer Station has reopened to the general public. All vehicles that are NOT self-dumping must use the on-site roll-off box dumpsters. Hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time). All Wakefield City voucher users must present their voucher at the window upon arrival.
Due to the recent fire, the transfer station will be closed to the public until further notice. Residential garbage collection and dumpster pickup services will continue as scheduled and will not be affected by the closure. -GOGEBIC RANGE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
